Solid foundations for the customers own conservatory
Our client at Hornchurch, Essexa had already purchased the conservatory frame from a third party company. They were looking for a company to carry out the groundwork, brickwork and general building work involved in preparing the base for the conservatory frames to be fitted.
As you can see from the photos the base includes brickwork inside and out resulting in no internal plasterboard or finish plaster. The height of the wall is known as a dwarf wall which gives you the added advantage of a window board which can be used as a shelf for ornaments or side lights etc. The wall allows you to have electrical sockets at any point around the internal or external walls.
The client also wanted to have the concrete floor finished with a smooth silver trowel. They did not want the extra expense of a sharp sand screed top layer which is common practice for internal floor finishes. This is because a screed is made up from sharp sand and gives you an exact level smooth finish with no worries of ripples, lumps and bumps. However, concrete is made from ballast sand and has big stones which makes it harder to achieve a complete smooth level finish with no ripples etc. As you can see the floor came out very well.
